The podcast I never thought I’d start.

Hi! I’m Briana and I meditate. Yes, I’m into the idea of quieting my mind and giving myself permission to be still.

Before I started to adopt the practice of mindfulness I thought it was something that only white people did.

I’m very happy to say I’ve dropped that belief and my life has changed for the better because of it.

By choosing to slow down and be present I now believe that being conscious is available to anyone and everyone.

Mindfulness affords me opportunities to experience life. Yes, I’m implying that before I started to practice meditating I wasn’t experiencing life.

I was moving too fast and too consumed with my thoughts to even notice what was happening in front of me. I was constantly reacting and responding instead of being. Now, if these statements seem pretentious or naive — give me a chance.

Admittedly, I’m using a lot of buzzwords and jargon that if you aren’t familiar with only perpetuate the notion that mindfulness is for the select few. But for this very reason, we created Be Human. A platform that demystifies mindfulness.

Our podcast, Be Human, is a creative medium for Kevin and me to talk about what it means to live a life that is mindful, purpose-driven, messy, meaningful, and fulfilling. All while being our unique, creative, funny, sometimes inappropriate but loving selves.

My deepest hope for this podcast is for someone listening to find themselves and begin to live out their deepest dreams and desires — as cheesy as that sounds.
